Tournaments

BYL is heading to Rip the Duck!

Held in South Bend, Indiana, near the beautiful Notre Dame campus, Rip the Duck is a well-established, annual tournament hosting more than 90 teams from as far away as Texas and New York. This highly competitive tournament is known for drawing experienced, club-level lacrosse players. 

Dates: April 13-14, 2019 

Location: South Bend, Indiana

BYL is organizing competitive teams to play in this year's tournament:

  • U10 (3rd and 4th grades): 1 team 
  • U12 (5th and 6th grades): 2 teams (Teams will be formed on the basis of player skill and performance.)
  • U14 (7th and 8th grades): 1 team 

All players who previously registered for the tournament team tryout session are invited to play in the Rip the Duck tournament. Register here.

Tournament fee: $100/player

Team practices: TBD

Additional information:

  • Families will be responsible for their own travel to/from South Bend, Indiana, as well as accommodation costs 
  • Games will be scheduled between 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, and 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14. The tournament guarantees each team a minimum of 4 games. Families should assume games will be scheduled on both days.
  • Teams will wear their BYL uniform during the tournament

Note: 

Some BYL tournament teams may also elect to attend other spring tournaments (e.g., Rip the Cow or Border Wars). In such event, rosters will be determined based on all relevant variables, including (i) player interest, (ii) coach availability, (iii) performance at the March 16 tryout (makeup tryout), (iv) performance during preseason and season, (v) practice attendance, (vi) team needs and (vii) team chemistry. Registration and participation fees for any additional tournaments will be handled separately from Rip the Duck.
